Reasons To Ban 6 Countries From Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Queen Elizabeth funeral

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, died at the age of 96 at Balmoral. Her flourishing reign lasted till 70 years as she pledged for her throne at the age of 25 in 1952. The cause of her death has not yet been revealed by the personnel of Buckingham Palace, but the people’s gumption is calling her advanced age the reason of her death. Queen Elizabeth II’s death was publicly announced at 18:30 through a notice affixed to the gates of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral has been taken place on September 19, 2022, at Westminster Abbey. Westminster Hall was closed for the mourning public at 6:30 a.m. in order to move the UK Queen Elizabeth’s Coffin to Westminster Abbey for the final ritual and goodbyes.

The doors of Westminster Abbey were opened at 8 a.m. for the attendees and foreign delegates from all around the world, who have been invited to the Queen Elizabeth II funeral.

The Queen Elizabeth II Funeral invitations were sent to almost all the countries’ leaders around the world, except to six countries as per Thursday’s news report in New York Times.

Let’s find out the reason(s) behind them being not invited. Why these countries have not been invited to Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral in the UK?

Russia On Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Russia’s conflict with Ukraine and the west’s undeniable hatred for Russia’s warfare and allegedly undiplomatic handling of Ukraine’s matter have closed all the doors of a good relationship with the west, including the UK. Russia has not been invited to UK’s Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Vladimir Putin’s visit to Britain in 2003

“We see this British attempt to use the national tragedy, which has touched the hearts of millions of people around the world, for geopolitical purposes to settle scores with our country… as deeply immoral,” stated the foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, “this is particularly blasphemous towards Elizabeth II’s memory.”

Belarus

Belarus is the closest kin to Russia and thus, the country also did not receive an invitation to Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. The president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin are very close to each other and have been seen together in many remarkable events as well. Belarus has been a close ally of Russia and didn’t condemn but supported Russia in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

This is due to the close relationship between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the UK put its steps back from inviting the Russian friendly country.

Myanmar

The reasons for Myanmar not being invited to Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral are in bits.

  • Myanmar is still under military rule and reign, which had made the political situation really hard for itself. The removal of Aung San Suu Kyi’s government by the military coup also hindered could-be good relations in future with the UK.
  • The Southeast Asian country, Myanmar also had never had a formal diplomatic relation with the United Kingdom.
  • The nation also showed unshakable support for Kremlin and its action.

Venezuela

As per the reports, the debilitated relation started in 1821 when “British Legions” protected the Second Republic of Venezuela against Spanish royalists in the Venezuelan War of Independence.

In 2020, when the entire nation of Venezuela was suffering a great deal due to the lack of a healthcare system at the time of Covid-19, the Central Bank of Venezuela took legal action against the Bank of England. It demanded €930 million worth of gold under United Nations Development Programme to buy food and medicine and build a better healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Syria

The UK broke all its diplomatic and geopolitical ties with Syria after the emergence of the Syrian Revolution in 2011. Not only did it cut all its ties but also withdrew all trade tariffs on Syria. Clearly, the UK doesn’t want Syria in the picture from the very beginning.

AfghanistanNo Invitation To Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Hibatullah Akhundzada – Current leader of Taliban

This is absolutely not at all a surprise to any nation that Afghanistan is not on the guest list of Queen Elizabeth funeral in the UK. The reason behind this is the Taliban and its cruel and orthodox seizure over Afghanistan. The UK doesn’t recognize ‘Taliban’ as the current government of Afghanistan and thus, no longer has an embassy in the country since the USA’s evacuation in August 2021.

Three countries were sent Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral invitations on the ambassadorial level – North Korea, Nicaragua and Iran.
