11 Controversial Policies That President Donald Trump Will Bring In His Second Term

President Donal Trump second term in 2025

It has been a complete roller coaster with now President Donald Trump. Not a single yawning moment has happened since his comeback to the White House and the inaugural ceremony in January 2025.

A lot will happen, and many of them are clouds among dark and uncertain clouds. For some, it will be relaxing, but for others, it can be more fueling than calming. Based on his presidential campaign and assurances in Rallies, here is a complete list of changes that Trump’s second term as the USA’s president will bring in the coming four years.

Dismissing All Allegations Against Him

Trump has faced numerous legal battles and allegations over the years and some are laden with grave concerns. But with a second term, he could leverage his country’s top executive power to dismiss or delay cases against him. He could possibly influence the Justice Department by changing or appointing new Supreme justices to ensure legal protections for himself and his allies.

He can’t pardon himself in New York’s hush money case as his sentencing date is set for 26 November 2025. The Fulton County case, where he allegedly interfered with the 2020 elections, has been also delayed without any known date.

Nominating Favorable Supreme Court Justices

Trump’s second presidential term would provide him with the opportunity to nominate more Supreme Court justices who will align with his mindset. This will solidify a conservative majority that could shape the country’s legal landscape for decades. This could impact decisions on abortion rights, gun control, and government regulations. His nominations are thought to be likely inclined toward younger judges, ensuring a long-term conservative presence and influence on the court.

The rumours of exerting more influence on the Fed are also on the rounds.

Mass Deportation of Illegal or Undocumented Migrants

Trump has long emphasized strict immigration policies and by looking at the situation in the UK and Europe, it is a high demand indeed. A study revealed that there are nearly 80% of undocumented or illegal immigrants in the U.S. have been thriving for decades and certainly, this mass deportation would also cost billions a year.
Defending this, Trump in his campaign said, “It’s not a question of a price tag. We have no choice. When people have been killed and murdered when drug lords have destroyed countries and now, they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here.”

The first wave of deportation will cover these areas – Springfield, Colorado, Aurora and Ohio. We would also likely see an expansion of border enforcement measures and tighter restrictions on refugees or asylum-seekers.

President Donald Trump May Bring Down Environment Cleaning Policies

While Trump has been criticized for rolling back environmental regulations in the past, a second term might see an emphasis on policies promoting industrial innovation and technological advancements. Let’s give a quick check on his promises on this:

  • He will prioritize U.S. oil and gas products, basing his tagline ‘Drill, baby, drill.’
  • He will rip off any support for electric vehicle (EV) production, EV tax credits, and incentives saved for EV battery production. Let us remind you that Elon Musk is one of the prominent supporters of Donald Trump. In short, the prices to buy Electric cars will soar up in the coming days.
  • He may withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement again as he did in his first term and Biden had to rejoin it in his rule.

Appointing A Prominent Anti-Vaccine Advocate – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. To Lead Health Care

One of the most contentious moves of President Donald Trump could be the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known vaccine skeptic, to oversee health care and women’s health sector. Kennedy was also heavily skeptical of COVID-19 vaccines and said it to be ‘ethnically targeted,’ sparing Jews and Chinese.

This can be really alarming and could significantly pose a great threat to vaccine mandates and pharmaceutical regulations. Now the question is – ‘Will really make America healthy again?’

Slashing Down Business Taxes & Regulations

Trump has consistently pushed for tax cuts and deregulation to boost America’s economic status in the world. His second term would likely bring further reductions in corporate taxes and loosened restrictions on businesses.

In his agenda, he has also proposed slashing corporate taxes to 15% from 21% and overturning a $10,000 deduction cap on the local and state property taxes. He is most likely to end taxes on tipped wages and overtime pay as well and is expected to eliminate taxes from Social Security benefits.

President Donald Trump Government Impose Tariffs On All International Imports

A hallmark of Trump’s economic policy has been protectionism and this time, it would be from foreign material.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent imposition of a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and a 10% tariff on goods from China, is touted by the administration as a strategy to protect American jobs and boost federal revenue. The underlying belief is that such tariffs create domestic employment opportunities and increase opportunities for taxable income.

However, many economists warn that this approach may have unintended consequences. The Tax Foundation notes that manufacturers are likely to pass the increased costs onto consumers, effectively functioning as a tax hike on American households. Many critics have also highlighted the potential for retaliatory measures from affected countries. Canada and Mexico have already announced plans for counter-tariffs targeting key U.S. exports. This move may further escalate trade tensions and impact the U.S. economy.

Reversing LGBTQ+ Protection Policies

Trump’s administration previously rolled back protections for LGBTQ+ groups. This ascension could see further reversals, particularly in areas such as transgender rights in schools, the military, and healthcare.

His strong detachment from the group has long been witnessed in his campaigns, where the tagline was ‘Kamala is for they/them. Trump is for you.’

Here are a few things that will reverse all the progressive steps toward LGBTQ+ community:

  • Reversing the policy where the schools were required to allow transgender students to use bathrooms that align with their gender
  • Stripping of all health protections for transgender people
  • Ending federal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals in American prisons
  • Punishing doctors, healthcare experts and teachers who provide gender-affirming care for minors

President Donald Trump Giving Power To States To Decide On ‘Abortion Access’

President Donald Trump’s judicial appointments have already influenced abortion rights in 2022 and he then also took credit for appointing them. Another term would likely see him further delegating abortion laws to state governments, potentially leading to increased restrictions in conservative states.

What will happen?

  • The state will hold the sole right to ban or apply abortion rules. He firmly said, “I am not signing a ban. The states will determine by vote or legislation.”
  • There will be further restrictions on abortion pills or medications, serving to Comstock Act.
  • Trump has allegedly promised to provide access to expensive fertility treatments.
  • President Donald Trump also announced a few months back a new plan in which the Federal Government will have to for the premium fertility treatments. This step would also require insurance companies to cover the complete IVF costs.

Almost Ending Ukraine-Russia and Hamas-Hezbollah War

Trump has positioned himself as a war averse and a dealmaker. He has suggested he could end ongoing conflicts swiftly, including the Ukraine and Russia war and tensions in the Middle East.

The veteran Israeli diplomat and journalist, Alon Pinkas revealed to CBS News, “If you look at the last six months, about American involvement in intercepting Iranian ballistic missiles in April, in deploying a THAAD missile system in Israel just three weeks ago, in deterring Iran to the best of their ability and providing Israel hardware and munitions that otherwise Israel may not have received.”

Pinkas understands the grave imbalance of this situation, where it could be a great security risk for Israel and its citizens.

Pressurizing NATO Allies To Contribute More Financially

President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized NATO allies for not meeting their defense spending commitments.

This time, he would most likely pressurize the European nations to contribute more, potentially straining international alliances but also reducing the U.S. financial burden. He openly demanded that the EU nations should at least devote 2% of their GDP to their NATO defense budget.

The conclusion of all of these policies and demands would undoubtedly be transformative, securing both opportunities and creating controversies. The impact of these policies will depend on congressional cooperation, judicial rulings, and public response. Whether these changes would strengthen or destabilize the nation remains a subject of heated debate.
